Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
6th February, 2019
Well another beautiful sunny day here in Funchal. We had 3 nice seadays down to Funchal, especially yesterday when the temperatures increased, and the sun made an appearance. Many events going on around the ship including the gardening and flowers theme of our cruise. A wonderful Welcome onboard Cocktail Party and dinner on the 2nd seaday nights as well.
We embarked our pilot at 7am this morning and we were alongside by 8am ready to rock and roll. Many of our guests keen to go ashore and I joined them after our drill for a stroll ashore and a coffee and even an ice-cream. With sun tan lotion on and my shorts I had a great walk ashore and bumped into a few of our guests doing them same thing!!
With everyone back onboard we departed at 5pm ready for our journey south towards La Palma, where we have an overnight call.
My last stop at Funchal on the Saga Pearl II and I will be back in the Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure.
Next stop La Palma and the weather forecast is looking great!
