Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
2nd February, 2019
Well Captain Nick here and it’s good to be back after my little time at home to celebrate my 40th Birthday – had a fab time!!
Joining here in Portsmouth and the sun was rising over the snow covered fields on the way down and I am really hoping for warmer weather as soon as possible and when we are down in the Canaries for my last cruise in command of the Saga Pearl II – The Canaries in Bloom cruise.
Busy day at the port with stores loading, refuelling and passenger disembarkation & embarkation. My senior team this cruise is Staff Captain Denis, Chief Engineer Ciro, Hotel Director Dawn and Cruise Director Jemma. After the passenger emergency drill was conducted it was time to leave Portsmouth and full speed ahead to our first port of call Funchal, Madeira, with 3 seadays in between.
