  • The Lake of Fire

    On the west side of São Miguel Island is a stunning place, Sete Cidades, where there are two lakes in the middle of a volcanic crater. This is the most popular national park in the Azores.
  • Vitoria City, Terceira Island
    Popular since the 16th-century, every year from May to September the people of Terceira hold touradas à corda - a bull, tied to a long rope, is let loose in the streets and brave individuals get as close as they dare.
