Dining
A grand tradition of cruising
Fine dining has become one of the time-honoured traditions of cruising, so our team of chefs on board Saga Pearl II will work tirelessly to ensure your meals are of the highest standard, cooked to perfection and impeccably served.
Delicious breakfasts
An important meal when you have a day of activities ahead. You could start with a tea or coffee brought to your cabin while you choose whether to enjoy a leisurely breakfast served in the impressive Dining Room or help yourself from the freshly prepared breakfast buffet in the The Verandah restaurant.
You might even prefer to eat in your cabin, which you can do whenever you wish for no extra charge.
Leisurely lunches
Mid-morning coffee is followed by a hot or cold buffet luncheon in The Verandah restaurant. Alternatively, you can enjoy a waiter-served lunch in the Dining Room. There is an open seating policy in the Dining Room for lunch and breakfast, so you can sit where you wish.
Dinner served at one leisurely sitting
Dinner is always an anticipated occasion; sometimes stretching to six courses, you will be able to choose from a selection of appetisers, a dish from the tureen and a fresh salad.
There is always a large choice of main courses, including fish, game, meat and vegetarian dishes, and you can follow this with dessert from a delicious selection of tarts, pavlovas, soufflés and exquisite petits fours.
Each evening meal is served at one leisurely sitting. This means you can dine any time between 7pm and 9pm, so you will never feel rushed to finish your meal.
The restaurants onboard have an open seating dining arrangement, which means you can sit wherever you like. For those who would prefer fixed seating at dinner we have a limited nuber of tables in the main Dining Room that can be reserved. These are available on a forst come, first served basis and will be for the duration of your cruise, we are unable to take requests for specific table sizes.
You can enjoy the fine dining in both the Dining Room and The Verandah. Occasionally, guests are invited to dine with the Captain or officers, and the Chart Room and Ward Room, located just off the main Dining Room, make the perfect venue for these special occasions. They seat just 14 guests so you can enjoy a convivial atmosphere as well as an exclusive menu in these private rooms.
Late-night buffets
After the evening’s entertainment aboard Saga Pearl II, you can round off your evening with a late night buffet in The Verandah restaurant. You will be able to help yourself to a tempting choice of sandwiches, pastries and cakes here.
Catering for special requests
If you have special dietary requirements we will do our best to cater for your individual needs – please advise us at the time of booking. Selected special diets may incur an additional charge.
