As a time-honoured tradition of cruising, whichever ship you join you can expect each mealtime to be a fine dining experience, from hearty breakfasts to leisurely afternoon teas to six-course dinners, plus tempting buffets in the Lido on Saga Ruby.
A good breakfast is an essential requirement when you have a day of activities planned, and you have plenty of choice to set you up for the day ahead. Perhaps indulge in a waiter-served meal, help yourself from the buffet (Saga Ruby only) eat out on deck or opt for a full English or continental breakfast brought to your cabin.
When lunchtime beckons, there is plenty to tempt you: pick and choose from the buffet (Saga Ruby only) or enjoy a delicious cooked-to-order lunch in the main restaurant.
Afternoon tea is another grand cruising tradition, and our ships offer a tempting spread of sandwiches, pastries and cakes that are hard to resist!
Sumptuous dinners
Dinner is bound to be the highlight of the day – always waiter served in one sitting and sometimes stretching to six mouth-watering courses, it’s a distinctly refined affair. Every ship has a talented team led by an Executive Chef, and you can look forward to sumptuous meals prepared using only the finest ingredients. Sommeliers are also on hand to recommend the best wines from the ship’s well-stocked ‘cellar’.
There is always a good choice of main courses, including fish, game, meat and vegetarian dishes, and you can follow this with dessert from a delicious selection of tarts, pavlovas, soufflés and exquisite petits fours.
You will never feel rushed to finish your meal or have to make way for waiting guests either, as our flexible arrangements mean you can dine any time between 7pm and 9pm.
Saga Sapphire
With sumptuous surroundings evoking the world’s continents, the Pole to Pole restaurant will offer flexible dining options, so you can choose from open seating or a fixed table for the duration of your cruise. Always waiter served, you can choose from a delicious menu that changes every day.
Meanwhile, the Grill is the place to enjoy a lighter meal – here you can watch your fish or steak being grilled in the fabulous show kitchen and help yourself to a selection of salads, juices and smoothies.
