Jaipur

The legacy of the Maharajas lives on in Jaipur with dramatic hillside forts, stunning palaces and impressive Mughal architecture everywhere you look. The capital of the desert state of Rajasthan in north-west India, Jaipur forms one corner of India’s famed golden triangle.

You can visit the stunning Amber Fort and the many treasures of the city itself, both of which were built by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 18th century. The walls of the old city are famed for their pink hue, which was added to welcome visiting British royalty in the 19th century. With so much history, colour and culture it is little wonder that Rajasthan is the most-visited state in India, with Jaipur as the jewel in its crown.
