Local countryside tour (half day)

Depart from your hotel for a half-day tour in the surroundings of Danang. A first stop will be made at the Marble Mountains, a cluster of 5 large limestone outcrops filled with caves and grottoes which were used both as Buddhist worshipping places as well refuge and protection by local fighters during the more recent wars.

An elevator takes visitors to the top of one of the outcrops. The area is also home to the Non Nuoc village where all kinds of sculptures are carved out of massive stone slabs.

We continue further south to the tip of the land jutting out into the mouth of the Thu Bon River before it reaches the ocean. We will go for an easy 45 mins to 1 hours stroll on a paved path through the quiet little fishing village of Cua Dai.

Your guide will explain and you will see for yourselves how life is in such a village as you pass by a local nursery, a primary school, a local ferry pier and see local fishing boats, how a local basket boat is made and hearing about different fishing techniques, inland and out at sea. Return to your hotel by end of morning

Danang city tour (half day)

Depart from your hotel for a half-day exploration of Danang, the 3rd biggest city in Vietnam.

Our first stop will be at Cham Museum (completed in 1916) which contains the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world.

Continue on an orientation drive northwards along the beach (My Khe Beach, formerly known as ‘China Beach’) and then head to the city center for a look at the former Danang Cathedral dating back to 1923 (from outside) as well as a stop at a Buddhist Pagoda and a Cao Dai temple, exploring the aspects of these 3 religions (please note that the Cathedral and the Caodai temple are not always accessible inside).

Another stop will be made at the local Han Market, the biggest in Danang before heading back to the hotel.
