In addition, there is a selection of high-end boutiques, charming plazas and a wealth of tourist attractions located all over the resort.

It was once the local centre of sugar cane production and then later wine production. Precariously sprawling over several ridges and steep hillsides, it was long remote from the rest of Tenerife and was only connected to the road network in 1968. Nowadays it's easy to reach, with regular buses from Santa Cruz.

Taganana (full day)

See spectacular scenery as you descend from the mountainous Anaga headland to Taganana.

The village of Taganana is normally reached by means of a vertiginous descent from the mountainous Anaga headland, and as you descend, there are magnificent views of the village’s picturesque setting. The quaint church in the village also boasts an unusual Hispano-Flemish altarpiece.

Lunch is available on this excursion for an extra €12. This price was correct at the time of writing but is approximate only and subject to change.
