Abu Simbel
Marvel at the outstanding archaeological monuments at Abu Simbel, home to a series of rock-cut temples dedicated to Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. The so-called Great Temple is home to four huge statues depicting Ramses II alongside princes, princesses and his queen - he is seated with a double crown symbolising Lower and Upper Egypt.
Aswan

Philae Temple

Kom Ombo Temple is actually divided into two down the middle, with one half dedicated to Sobek and the other to Haroeris. It is built on a high dune overlooking the Nile, on the banks of which sacred crocodiles once basked.

Out and about

A complimentary boat sets sail at regular intervals to Aswan, one-and-a-half kilometres away, where you can explore the souk and attractive Corniche lined with waterfront cafés. The Aswan High Dam is 16 kilometres away. Aswan airport is approximately 20 minutes' drive away.
