  • The Drakensberg Mountains
Literally meaning ‘dragon mountains’, the Drakensbergs form a long basalt escarpment of numerous sheer, jagged peaks, in stark contrast to the green, verdant valleys to their east.  They have names such as Giant Castle, Cathedral Peak, the Sentinel and Thabana Ntleyana, meaning ‘Beautiful Mountain’.

Kruger National Park (full day)

Enjoy a full-day’s safari in Kruger National Park - one of the most famous game parks in the world.  It is also one of the biggest, almost the size of Switzerland, and one of the oldest, established in 1898.

You may be lucky enough to see some of the ‘Big Five’ - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino - as well as glimpses of zebra, cheetah, giraffe and hippopotamus.

Nothing can prepare you for seeing the animals in the wild, their natural environment.  You travel in an air-conditioned Quantum.

Panoramic Tour (full day)

Travel to some of the Limpopo Province’s most spectacular natural landmarks. Make a photo-stop at scenic Blyde River Canyon to see the ‘Three Rondavels’ - hills shaped like African thatched huts rising from the far wall of the canyon.

You also visit Bourke’s Luck Potholes, rock formations carved out by the Blyde and the Treur rivers. The smooth red and yellow rocks contrast with the dark pools, and access is by well-maintained footpaths and bridges.

Another stop is made at God’s Window, a vantage-point on the Drakensberg Escarpment with superb views across the Lowveld. A short uphill walk is necessary.
