Agatha Crocodile RanchAgatha Crocodile Ranch

Agatha Crocodile Ranch (half day)

Agatha Crocodile Ranch is located on an avocado farm in the Limpopo Province. The ranch was started in 1978 by a couple from Bratislava, Milan and Blanka Darazs, who had lived in South Africa since 1969 and had received two baby crocodiles as a present. The ranch has now become one of the Limpopo’s top tourist attractions and welcomes visitors from all over the world.

On a tour through the ranch, you have the opportunity to touch a baby crocodile and also to feed larger crocodiles! There are about 200 Nile crocodiles on view to the public, in addition to a well-stocked curio shop and gallery showcasing works by talented local artists.

You can also see some of the ranch’s largest crocodiles, known as the ‘Legends’. These include Rufus, who is 4.2 metres long and over 35 years old.

Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre (half day)

The Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre has been established to care for abandoned and injured wild animals and to reintroduce them, where possible, into their natural environment. The centre has also been responsible for a number of successful breeding programmes. For example, over 150 specimens of the rare Serval Cat have been bred here and released into the wild.

Visitors to the centre have the chance to see wildlife at very close quarters. The animals may include lion, leopard, serval, lynx and honey badger, as well as crowned eagles and vultures. A unique feature is the opportunity to view wild dogs at close range.

You also visit the Cheetah Breeding Centre, where you can see these magnificent cats, the fastest animals in the world.
