Out and about

Located to the west of Kruger National Park, the Karongwe Private Game Reserve is home to a variety of indigenous African animals including elephant, lion, leopard and over 350 species of birds.

The town of Phalaborwa is a one-hour drive away. The lodge is approximately one hours' drive from Phalaborwa Airport.

Olilfants River Valley

Rich in both fascinating wildlife and spectacular scenery, the Valley of the Olifants is home to an array of indigenous flora and fauna, which are sustained by the waters of the Olifants River.

Flowing from the Drakensberg Mountains to the plains of the Lowveld, the river is one of the main tributaries of the Limpopo River and provides the main natural water supply to the area. The river attracts an abundance of African wildlife, including giraffe.
