Out and about

There is direct access to the beach from the hotel, which is set in Mahdia’s ‘Zone Touristique’ – an area of beach hotels, apartments and shops.

A taxi to Mahdia’s town centre, approx. three and a half kilometres away, will cost you around TD5 (about £2.40).

The town features a small medina, local market, shops, cafés and a museum housing many artefacts from antiquity.

Enfidha airport is approximately 90 minutes’ drive away.

Mahdia

Tunisia is one of North Africa’s most treasured destinations with a culture blending European and African influences. Around every corner you can marvel at the ancient sites which have brought visitors here for centuries.

Situated on a peninsula south of Tunis, Mahdia is a real working town where you’ll see fishing boats lining the harbour after bringing in the morning’s catch.

A short stroll around the town will reveal plenty of reminders of Mahdia’s former glory as a capital of the Fatimid dynasty, and you’ll also find plenty of cafés in which to while away the afternoon.

Then of course there are the fine sandy beaches which stretch for miles.
