Petralona Caves and Wine Tasting

This tour starts with a visit to the famous Petrálona Caves, where archaeologists discovered the skull of a Neanderthal man, believed to be over 200,000 years old. The cave, which has impressive stalactites and stalagmites, was discovered by villagers in 1959. From here, you proceed to a tavern, with a chance to sample the local wine. The caves have an uneven floor surface, so comfortable flat-soled shoes should be worn.
