At Pigeon Point, board the glass-bottomed boat to Buccoo Reef, where you can snorkel. Continue to Coral Gardens where you can see many exotic fish. Then have the opportunity to swim in the exceptionally still, clear waters of Nylon Pool.

Visit Richmond Great House and the fort then continue to Roxborough, and the oldest Forest Reserve in the Western Hemisphere before arriving at a cocoa plantation. A walking tour will reveal the stages of cocoa production.

Discover the Roman Catholic cathedral of St George which has an ancient crypt. Next stop is De La Grenade’s Spice Garden and a little factory producing confectionery made from nutmeg. Your tour ends with a scenic drive through Westerthall Point.

Spend the day at leisure, exploring your new hotel and its surroundings. Or head out on an optional excursion. This evening there will be a talk on the history of St Vincent and the Grenadines, recalling the days of marauding pirates and whaling ships. B, L, D

These five tiny, uninhabited islands are surrounded by reefs and enclose a turquoise lagoon. The  Horseshoe Reef that protects them provides some of the best snorkelling in the region.

Extend your holiday with a seven-night all-inclusive stay at The Club Barbados Resort and Spa (4Q). Amenities include two restaurants, three bars, three freshwater swimming pools, tennis court and water sports including sailing, snorkelling and windsurfing. Or head to the spa for treatments at your own expense. Your stay is all-inclusive, with complimentary drinks served for 15 hours daily, from 11am until 2am (with the exception of bottled water, fine wines and champagne), and live entertainment every night.

Included excursion: Island tour (full day). Discover beautiful Barbados as you travel along the rugged east coast then continue to the elegant Sunbury Plantation House for some tasty local cuisine.

St Lucia

All-inclusive post-extension

Enjoy an all-inclusive four-night stay in cool, green hills on the northwest of the island, at the Bel Jou (4Q) a spacious and soothing haven high above the city of Castries. Facilities include the Verandah Restaurant where you can enjoy a mixture of buffet-style and waiter-served local and international cuisine and the Cabana Grill serving light lunches. There's also an outdoor swimming pool with terrace and pool bar, 24-hour English-speaking reception and free Wi-Fi throughout. The free bar, open 11am to 11pm daily, serves local alcholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Being located on a steep hill, we don't recommend walking to Castries from the hotel. The free shuttle bus runs regularly throughout the day to the local beaches, and Castries, Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island.
