Ha Long Bay is one of the most visited destinations in Vietnam, famous for the thousands of limestone karsts and islands that have been created over millions of years by erosion and the wet tropical climate.
Famed for its noodles and unique lanterns, Hoi An is a small city on Vietnam's south-central coast on the South China Sea, but it once had the largest harbour in Southeast Asia.
