The Blue Marlin is an exceptionally welcoming, relaxed hotel close to the shops and cafes. You can enjoy a combination of buffets and waiter-served meals in the Lighthouse restaurant, and free drinks in the bar from 11am to 11pm. Other facilities include a lounge, outdoor pool, games room, table tennis, pool table, spa (treatments extra) and diver centre (extra cost). All 122 rooms have air conditioning, a television, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, safety deposit box and hairdryer. Some bathrooms only have a shower, no bath. From the hotel a private walkway leads to the sandy beach 200 metres away, and it's a stroll of 50 metres into the resort of Scottburgh where you'll find lots to entertain you. The hotel is approximately an hour's drive from Durban airport.

Durban sightseeing (half day). Your tour shows you the beautiful Botanical Gardens and the Indian Market, where you can find almost everything from exotic jewellery to fruits and spices. Nearby you can view the Hindu temple and the Juna Mosque, reputedly the largest in the southern hemisphere. You drive along the Golden Mile, see Durban from the entrance to the harbour and pass through the city centre, viewing Farewell Square where the British fleet settled in 1824.
Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve (half day)
. Encompassing forest, grassland, rivers, wetlands, cliffs and dams, this 2,189 hectare reserve is a haven for wildlife. During your visit you may spot zebra, blue wildebeest, black-backed jackal, cranes and hornbills.
