With its own private beach and lagoon, you can enjoy endless opportunities for snorkelling or diving (at an extra charge). You can also explore the old town of Quseir, much of which is being restored in a UNESCO-led initiative, located just three kilometres away.

Quseir will give you an insight into typical Egyptian daily life as you wander around its narrow streets, laid-back bazaars, 16th-century fort and historic trading port. The resort is also well placed for visiting Luxor and Hurghada. Marsa Alam airport is approximately 45 minutes' drive away and Hurghada airport is approximately one-and-a-half hours' drive away.

Quseir

Quseir, an unspoilt resort with a laid-back atmosphere, magnificent coral reef and beautiful sandy beaches. From here you can explore Hurghada, go scuba diving or snorkelling and spend time in the historic old town.

Luxor by road

This is a very long day, but an opportunity to visit Karnak, Hatchepsut and the Valley of the Kings. The Temple of Karnak is a vast complex consisting of several temples, courtyards and the vast hypostyle hall built by Ramses II; it was formerly linked to the Temple of Luxor by an avenue of Sphinxes. Parts of the interior have remained their stone ceiling with paintings still fresh after over 3,000 years. The Valley of the Kings, where the Pharaohs were buried, has no fewer than 62 rock-cut tombs of which about ten are normally open to the public. You cannot take your camera into the Valley of the Kings. After an included lunch you can enjoy a short trip on the Nile, the longest river in the world.

Hurghada and glass-bottom boat trip

Hurghada has grown from a traditional fishing village on the Red Sea coast to a hugely popular tourist resort in the space of just a few years. Like most of this coast, the area is popular for diving and snorkelling, but the town also attracts many Europeans with its wide boulevards fanned by sea breezes. After your city tour, you have by way of contrast a trip in a glass-bottom boat, the lower deck of which is below the water, enabling you to enjoy the sea life from two very different perspectives.
