Chobe National Park boasts the most diverse range of wildlife in the country and is perhaps most renowned for the high concentration of elephants along with buffalo, antelope and many different bird species.
Formed when the Okavango River empties into a swap in the Kalahari Desert, the Okavango Delta is home to permanent and seasonal wildlife, including lion, elephant and the endangered African Wild Dog.

Day 1 - 2 UK-Johannesburg-Maun
After taking Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service to Heathrow, depart in the evening for your overnight flight to Maun via Johannesburg. You'll be met by a Saga tour manager who will remain as your guide throughout the tour. Spend your first night at Cresta Riley's (3Q).
Day 3 - 5 Khwai
Set off in your safari vehicle towards the Khwai River area where you stay for three nights. You will arrive at your fully-assembled mobile camp late in the afternoon. Each private tent has proper beds, an en suite bag-shower and chemical toilet, and the tents are arranged around an open-air bar/dining area beside the camp fire. During your bush experience you can look forward to expertly-cooked meals at beautifully-laid tables, and in the evenings candlelit pathways link the bar and tents – it's all very civilised! For the next two days you'll discover a vast array of wildlife including numerous antelope species and – if you're lucky – lion, wild dog and leopard. Your early morning and late afternoon game drives will take place in the areas where the guides know there is the most wildlife, so depending on the season this may be in Moremi Game Reserve, or towards the Khwai River area.
Day 6 - 8 Chobe National Park
Stop for lunch en route to the site of your newly erected camp which will be your base for the next three nights. On further game drives you're likely to see an abundance of water and forest birds, buffalo, giraffe, impala and red lechwe. This region is thought to have the highest concentration of game in Africa so you may glimpse the more reclusive lions, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal hunting here too.
Day 9 Kasane, Chobe River
Head north to the Chobe River with its beautiful flood plain and spend the next two nights at Chobe Safari Lodge (4Q) in Kasane. This afternoon an included cruise gives you the chance to see large herds of elephant, buffalo and various birds at the water’s edge.
Day 10 Chobe River
Spend the day at leisure at the lodge on the banks of the Chobe River. Enjoy the opportunity to spot wildlife here or perhaps join an optional photo safari on a specially designed vehicle.
