Day 1 UK to Lilongwe
After taking Saga’s included UK door-to-door travel service, depart for your overnight flight to Lilongwe in Malawi.
Day 2 Lilongwe to Mfuwe
On arrival take your onward light aircraft flight to Mfuwe. Transfer to the Sanctuary Chichele Presidential Lodge (4Q+), for the first seven nights of your holiday.
Day 3 - 8 Mfuwe
Your week at the lodge will include seven game drives. There's the opportunity to substitute at least one game drive for a walking safari, the ultimate way to get up close to Zambia's incredible wildlife. You can find out more about the local wildlife and people during fascinating talks and on a visit to a local community where textiles are hand crafted. At night, an expert guide will also help you put names to the bright constellations above.
If that doesn't tire you out, there are further optional game drives and walks available.
Day 9 Mfuwe to Lilongwe to Lake Malawi
Travel to Mfuwe airport for your return light aircraft flight to Lilongwe. Continue to The Makokola Retreat for a three-night stay beside the golden sands and wooded shores of Lake Malawi.
Day 10 - 11 Lake Malawi
Spend your days on the lake snorkeling, feeding the fish eagles or simply relaxing in the shade of a palm tree beside the dazzling waters.
Day 12 Lake Malawi to Lilongwe
Travel to Lilongwe airport for your return overnight flight to the UK.
Day 13 UK
Arrive this morning for your included UK door-to-door travel service home.

Post holiday extension, full-board (2014 only)
This holiday extension allows you to go game watching in Kenya and includes three nights' hotel accommodation on a full-board basis and the services of a Saga-appointed driver guide.
You'll stay at the Ole-Sereni Hotel (3Q) which sits on the edge of the city of Nairobi, close to the National Game Park, for an overnight stay before travelling to Lake Nakuru Lodge (3Q), where you'll stay for the next two nights.
Post holiday extension, all-inclusive
After your main holiday you can enjoy a further three relaxing nights at The Makokola Retreat (4Q) on the shores of Lake Malawi.
Please note that your Saga representative will not accompany you on this extension. Your stay here is on a full-board basis with a special drinks package included. You will be able to enjoy your meals served alfresco in the hotel's gardens or open-sided dining room (buffet breakfast, lunch and waiter-served dinner).
